| Abergavenny fielded a full team against their visitors on Saturday. Abergavenny
began the game very strongly, due mainly to quick accurate passing through
the midfield, catching their opposition out of position on a number of occasions.
Unfortunately despite the best efforts of Geraint Jones, Chris Bu and Vaisey
Bramley in attack, Abergavenny failed to capitalise from this pressure.
As the game progressed it became a much more even contest, the home side
still creating more goal scoring chances. It was Chris Bu who opened the scoring by sliding a shot under the advancing goalkeeper, early in the second half, and for five minutes Abergavenny pressed forward to score their second. Unfortunately it was Whitchurch who scored two goals in quick succession despite some heroic goalkeeping by Alex Morgan. |

| Abergavenny now 2 goals to 1 down began to play hockey as they had at the start of the game, and laid seige on the Whitchurch goal. They peppered the visiting goalkeeper with shots, with Chris Bu going closest with a spectacular deflection which flew inches over the crossbar. Pressing forward in order to get the equalising goal obviously left Abergavenny vulnerable to a break away, they had a few near misses where goalkeeper Morgan kept out one on one shots, but eventually as the game neared its end Whitchurch broke away in numbers and scored to give them a 3 goals to 1 win. | ||
| The result of this game could truly said not to have reflected the nature of the game or the amount of pressure exerted by Abergavenny who were very unlucky to lose this league match. The team would like to thank Vince Staples and Keith Stuart for umpiring the game | ||
